synth et(h)ic | Video Screening Submissions Are Now Closed

The apart International Short Film, Video and Photography Symposium will take place on 23–26 October 2026 at the Kadıköy Barış Manço Cultural Center. This year’s theme, “synth et(h)ic,” focuses on the transformation from analogue to digital and from digital to synthetic realities, as well as the rise of algorithmic vision. Today, the image no longer merely refers to an external reality; it increasingly emerges as something generated, multiplied, and redistributed through its own systems of production.

Within this framework, submissions for our video screening are now closed. We would like to thank all artists and creators who submitted their work for their interest and contribution. The submitted works are currently under evaluation, and the selected works will be announced in the coming days.

We sincerely thank everyone who submitted works engaging with synthetic imagery, artificial intelligence and algorithmic production, regimes of vision, the tension between reality and representation, and the changing ontology of the image, across forms including experimental film, fiction, documentary, and artists’ moving image.
