synth'et(h)ic | Open Call for the Video Screening

The apart International Short Film, Video and Photography Symposium will take place on 23–26 October 2026 at the Kadıköy Barış Manço Cultural Center in Istanbul. This year's theme, "synth'et(h)ic"  centers on the shift from the analog to the digital and from the digital to a synthesized reality, and on the rise of algorithmic vision. Today the image stands before us not as a reference drawn from the external world, but as a production that constitutes, multiplies and redistributes itself from within.

Within this framework, our video selection is now open for submissions. We welcome experimental, fiction, documentary and artist's-video works engaging with the synthetic image, artificial intelligence and algorithmic production, scopic regimes, the tension between reality and representation, and the shifting ontology of the image.
